Don't bother with Carmageddon 3's autorun (TDR2000Menu.exe). Run SETUP.EXE directly from the CD root.

When prompted to install DirectX 7.0a, say No. Uncheck the two checkboxes on the last screen of the installer.

On your first run, select Carmageddon TDR2000 Setup. After your monitors finish freaking out, select your resolution. Leave your video card chipset set to Default. Hit Play TDR2000 to bring up the launch menu.

If you follow these steps, Carmageddon 3: TDR 2000 should work almost perfectly.

However, the uninstaller is broken on Vista. If you try to uninstall via Uninstall or change a program, you will get a dialog titled "Error: CreateFile(sometempfilehere)" with the message "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."
