OpenGL Gaming

By default, Windows ships with a software renderer capable of handling most of the OpenGL 1.0 spec. However, this renderer has very poor performance on Vista and is inadequate for most OpenGL gaming.

In order to get the best performance for your OpenGL games, it is vitally important that you download the latest drivers for your video card from your video card manufacturer. The drivers available from Windows Update will not update the OpenGL renderer in most cases.
