Versions before 0.72 had an issue where they would crash when polling for joysticks on Vista. Please make sure you install at least version 0.72.
Edit Installation Issue
The default install doesn't install icons for all users. This can be an issue if you are running as a standard user.
To get a shortcut:
- Browse to the install folder (C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.72 for Vista 32-bit or C:\Program Files (x86)\DOSBox-0.72 for Vista 64-bit).
- Right-click on "dosbox.exe."
- Select "Send To," then "Desktop (create shortcut)."
